Interview conducted by a Chinaman with worst English accent than my wife. He asked me all the questions, and really harped on seeing bills and real estate in both of our names. Relax buddy, we have it, just keep your shirt on!

We took the stuff it said on the letter and a bunch of supporting evidence, along with all of our stuff from the visa interview, and copies of the entire K-1 petition and AOS package.

Our guy was hard to understand, had a heavy asian accent and was pretty stern and straight forward. Made us swear to tell the truth, asked us immediately for id\'s, if i was a US citizen, and asked me how we met. I described how we met and how our relationship evolved until we decided to marry, and then he asked if we had any joint accounts or insurance together. That is when I pulled out my big file of supporting evidence which I sorted out with a table of contents and gave it all to him. I had another copy for myself along with all the originals (I had given him all the copies).

He went through it all, gave us back the 40 pictures and wedding invitation without even looking at them. Asked if my dad was still working (my dad was our main source of household income), asked me our address, then proceeded to ask Leanne if she had ever been arrested ...she told him about that, then he asked if she was a member of any organizations..no, if she had ever been deported, how long she was in the US for her last (and only) visit, when we got married, and asked her our phone number. The whole time he was flipping through our AOS package page by page. Then he told me to take back the pictures he didnt look at and that he was approving us, and that she should get her green card in 10 days. he explained how we will need to file for removal of conditions in 1 year and 9 months, and that was it!

I will copy the table of contents that I made that shows all the supporting evidence we gave him:

SUPPORTING EVIDENCE OF MICHAEL & LEANNE’S RELATIONSHIP

1. Check from joint checking acct., box the checks came in (addressed to Leanne at our address), copies of both of our ATM Visa cards, copies of past 3 bank statements and last 2 envelopes they came in
2. Escrow & Title information, Grant Deed, Loan Documents
3. MasterCard account in both of our names (copy of both cards)
4. Health insurance documents showing Leanne & Michael together on Michael’s insurance through his job at Seccion Amarilla:

- Front and back copies of healthcare membership cards, with Michael and Leanne’s name together on each card
- Healthcare Coverage Status showing coverage dates for Michael & Leanne on the same policy
- Healthcare statement 08-18-2010 showing claims, deductibles and maximums for Michael & Leanne on the same policy
- Healthcare Dental Reimbursement document showing Leanne on Michael’s policy
- Two Laboratory bills showing balance due after healthcare deductable was paid

5. Current automobile registration showing Michael & Leanne both as registered owners of the same car
6. Current automobile insurance showing Leanne as a designated person on Michael’s policy
7. Copy of Verizon wireless account showing Leanne as Account Manager of Michael’s phone

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

The interview was very very short like 15 minutes. The first he asked for proof of marriage and proofs to support our living together. I didnt have much as I WAITED to long to get his Social security #. I thought we had to be married and have our marriage certificate. That was totally my fault. Anyways so I explained this to him. As soon as he would ask us one question he would interrupt my answer with another question. He asked that my husband show his keys to the house. We are about to move (buying a house) and so I never bothered to get his own house key as we go everywhere together. which I explained with interviewer interrupting saying what if he wants to go by himself to the store and I laughed and said Sir do you know where I live? I live in the desert and I know he's (hubby) not going to be going out side. The next question which floored me was about when my hubby was visiting in the US last year in May. He asked us if we had sex the first night. Because I was on that fast grueling answer thing I immediatly told him yes (which is true) but later I was thinking OMG this guy asked us that. Anyways my husband was over in the corner turning red and the guy was like the first time you meet him you have sex with him and then my husband said, well we had known each other a long time online and I already knew I was in love with her. Then the interview leaves the room to make some copies and this other guy walks in looking for him. We told him he went to make copies but He kept walking to the desk and looking at us and then walking behind us I thought out the door but then I would see him again during this time My husband and I were just talking about stuff and hes going baby dont get mad at him its ok cause he knows how i am LOL..(we thought there would be more interviews) then we were talking about random dumb couple stuff And I guess I was sleepy cause my hubby is picking the sleep out of my eyes..I got up early and we had to leave fast and we really didnt get much sleep the night before, anyways this guy is still doing his thing behind us I guess I knew he was there I wasnt really paying attention. I actually dont know what he was doing at that point for a minute I thought he was like doing something like this http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/kicking.gif behind our back. Anyways our interviewer comes back is filing out this form in red ink and me reading upside down sees it says conditional green card and I knew right then we got it. He then explained it to me and when to file to lift conditions and we walked out of there. All in All the interview felt like 15 minutes but it could of been longer. All in all I think it better prepared me for the "real" interview. Also my husbands work permit came about 3 days before his interview so we couldnt even scurry to get his SS# I'm giving the rating a 3 because of the grueling however we were approved

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Finally I get to post one of these and share my happy story!

My appointment was scheduled for 8:30am and we arrived about 15 minutes early. It was a bit of a wait. It is the Tuesday following the Memorial Day weekend and apparently they had some people off on vacation and some that had called out. We waited until about 10am before getting in. My Dad, who petitioned for me, came with me to the appointment. The lady was very nice and friendly. We were sizing up the officers as they came out and she seemed to be the friendliest. I was happy to get her. The forms looked like they had spills on them and she asked if I had submitted them like that, to which I answered no. She congratulated my Dad on his recent citizenship, mentioned the date he had filed the petition when he was a permanent resident and that his becoming a citizen had moved me along substantially.

The issue I was sweating the most turned out to not be a hinderence. I had a DUI in 2008 that I was really stressing. She brought up that I had a DUI and I said yes and that it was an unfortunate incident. I had also been charged for DUI in 1997 but acquitted, and it was having the 2 arrests that stressed me out. She really didn't focus on that too much. She thanked me for submitting all the certified court documents regarding the arrests in advance and said that having everything together made things easier. I also had a careless and reckless and driving after consuming while under 21 (these were from the 1997 incident) and submitted certified copies from all cases. She commented that I was very thourough with my submission. Then she asked for mine and my Dad's ID and took copies, and also reviewed the original of my birth certificate and my Dad's citizenship certificate. She then said that before she stamped it for approval she had to get her supervisors signature because of the arrest and also because of the water damage (which must have happened in the mail). We went back to the waiting room and waited for about 10 minutes, and then she came out, called my name, and gave us back our ID's and gave me a letter saying CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I've been waiting years for this and it is such a happy day!!!!

Good luck to all that are waiting their interviews! Hopefully your experience is happy too!
